Rain Sullivan Talks Publishing Sci Fi Books and Finding Agents!
We recently had the very talented Seattle Sci fi writer Rain Sullivan on the Zack Lyman Podcast. In this episode we talk about her writing process, how she is feeling now finishing a couple of books and what she is working on currently. This is a great episode for any writer and any level or anyone interested in the writing process.
Personally, I love hearing about Rain Sullivan writing process. I love talking with writers and learning how they think. I feel it often helps my writing and opens up my brain. In this episode she drops a great concept about writing draft 1 and draft 2 of any story that I am going to steal.

Rain Sullivan Likes Her Quiet Mornings
Early in the episode I ask Rain about her writing process. Like I mentioned, this is something I been wanting to know. I wanted to make sure we covered this first. We find out Rain loves early morning writing and editing. Then later at night she has creative burst and throws everything down on the page.
I am not this way at all, I find my best writing in the afternoon and often at midnight.
Find Writing Community In Seattle And Around The World
Something I really admire about Rain is her push towards building a community. I am always impressed when someone can make such a huge effort towards connecting with others. Not only does Rain do small gestors like posting in her Instagram story others looking for a writing buddy. But as we chatted in the podcast episode, she has put together writing groups over the years. She mentions how lonely writing can be and how you need others.
This is something I am very aware of, now in my 30’s I am realizing how I should of been building those relationships and communities more in the past. Rain Sullivan is truly taking the right steps in her career.

Rain is in that weird waiting period. They are unsure at the time of recording this podcast interview when the book will come out. We will be updating the blog as soon as more information comes out.
